About the publication
Software choices should make sense in the work.
The Sensible Stack is an independent publication about choosing software for creators, small businesses, and lean teams.
Our purpose
Software buying advice often starts with a long feature list or a single overall winner. We start with the decision: the job that needs to be done, the people doing it, the budget available, and the operational cost of adding another tool.
Our goal is to help readers understand which products deserve a closer look, which tradeoffs matter, and when a simpler option may be enough.
What we evaluate
- Practical fitHow a product matches a specific workflow, audience, and level of complexity.
- CostPricing, plan limits, setup effort, maintenance, and likely switching costs.
- CapabilitiesWhat the product can support, what it cannot, and which differences affect the decision.
How we describe evidence
We do not invent personal stories, customer outcomes, or first-hand experience. A product is described as tested only when a real test has been performed. Research based on official documentation, public pricing, product demonstrations, or other sources should be identified for what it is.
Recommendations should show their reasoning. Commercial relationships may be disclosed, but they should not replace a consistent editorial standard.
